Where Life Begins - Week 1 Day 5

WEEK 1 // DAY 5
LIVING AWARE
Jesus draws a connection between love, obedience, and revelation. This is not a transactional relationship, as though obedience earns God’s love. Rather, it is relational—obedience becomes the natural response to love, and in that response, there is a deeper experience of knowing Jesus. The Spirit plays a central role in this, making the presence of Christ real and personal in the life of the believer.
To say that Jesus will “show himself” to you is not to suggest a visible appearance, but a relational unveiling. It speaks of a growing awareness, a deepening clarity, and an increasing familiarity with who He is. As you walk with the Spirit, you begin to recognize His voice, His leading, and His presence in ways that may have once been unfamiliar. This is how life with God develops—not through distance, but through nearness that becomes more clearly perceived over time.
This means that the Christian life is not meant to be static or purely intellectual. It is meant to be lived. The Spirit invites you into an ongoing relationship where you are not only learning about Jesus, but encountering Him in your daily life. In ordinary moments—decisions, conversations, quiet reflections—you begin to sense His presence more clearly. Not because He has suddenly become more present, but because you are becoming more aware.
And this is where many people struggle. It is not that God is absent—it is that life is often lived at a pace or posture that makes awareness difficult. Distraction, busyness, and self-reliance can dull our sensitivity to what the Spirit is doing. But when you slow down, when you begin to listen, when you respond to even small promptings, you begin to notice something: God has been at work all along.
The invitation today is simple, but profound: live aware. Not striving to create something new, but awakening to what is already true. The Spirit is present. Jesus is revealing Himself. Life has already begun. And as you respond in love and obedience, that life becomes more visible, more tangible, and more real.
Reflection Questions:
- What connection does Jesus make between love and obedience?
- What does it mean that Jesus will “show himself” to you?
- Where might you be missing God’s presence in your daily life?
- What is one step you can take to live more aware of Him?
Journaling Prompt:
Take time to reflect on your daily rhythms and write about how you want to become more aware of God’s presence in the ordinary moments of your life.Prayer Starter: Invite the Holy Spirit to open your awareness to Jesus today, and ask Him to help you respond with love and obedience in both small and significant ways.
